Tucker Carlson has even told his followers to get forged vaccination cards.

Unfortunately for the country, and especially the unvaccinated, the pandemic continues to rage. It’s largely a pandemic of the unvaccinated. In Nebraska since January 1st, 2021, 94% of all COVID-19 hospitalizations and 95% of all COVID-19 deaths were among not fully-vaccinated people.

Despite the raging pandemic, the data indicates that the vaccines continue to be extremely effective. Notwithstanding some sensational media coverage, breakthrough cases remain rare and the vaccinated still enjoy strong protection from hospitalization and death.

One of the interesting aspects of the pandemic is that the vaccinated are probably overly cautious and the unvaccinated are overly reckless. There…

President Biden has created a record 4 million jobs in just 7 months.

President Biden inherited a moribund economy from Trump that lost over 10 million jobs and was only creating a paltry 60,000 new jobs per month. What appears to be lost in all the furor over the latest phony GOP “outrage” is that President Biden has reversed this trend and is currently presiding over a very strong economy. We can’t let the voters overlook this tremendous accomplishment.

That’s why the right wing media and some elected Republicans are actively discouraging their followers from getting vaccinated. Many in the GOP are hoping that the corona virus will push the economy back into…

The 1987 Game of the Century Part II was another number one versus number two matchup.

One of the most anticipated games in the classic Nebraska versus Oklahoma rivalry was the one played in Lincoln in 1987. Both teams had been ranked number one and two all season.

Nebraska moved into the top spot the week before the game after Oklahoma had lost two key starters in its victory over Missouri. Starting quarterback Jamelle Holieway and fullback Lydell Carr both suffered season ending knee injuries. Oddly enough, Barry Switzer also suffered a serious knee injury in the same game when a player ran into him on the sidelines after being pushed out of bounds.

Confidence was…

Last week, President Joe Biden channeled the anger and frustration of the silent majority of responsible, vaccinated people. When he announced his new policy on vaccinations and testing, Biden said: “This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated….And to make matters worse, there are elected officials actively working to undermine the fight against COVID-19. Instead of encouraging people to get vaccinated and mask up, they’re ordering mobile morgues for the unvaccinated dying from COVID in their communities. This is totally unacceptable….We’ve been patient, but our patience is wearing thin. And your refusal has cost all of us.”

Biden’s new plan will…

Last week, the Republican senators in the legislature unveiled their proposed map to draw the district lines for the congressional districts and legislative districts. It was a radical scheme that proves that the Nebraska Republicans are drunk with power and know that Don Bacon is vulnerable in 2022.

Senator Lou Ann Linehan’s map would move northern Douglas County into Nebraska CD01, move deep red Saunders County into CD02 and put more of Sarpy County into CD02. This hyper partisan proposal would insulate Bacon from any challenges and would create three deep red congressional districts. Heretofore, CD02 has been a swing…

Mitch McConnell and the Senate GOP stole two Supreme Court seats.

During most of its history, big business and the wealthy have controlled a majority on the U.S. Supreme Court. Between 1870 and 1936, an activist “conservative” majority on the Supreme Court threw out numerous laws passed by the elected branches that benefited working Americans. That majority invalidated the minimum wage several times, threw out laws banning child labor and shredded civil rights laws that protected the newly freed African Americans.

During Franklin Roosevelt’s first term, five GOP appointed justices threw out most of his New Deal legislation. Beginning in the late 1930s, the Supreme Court had a Progressive majority for…

16,000 Allies soldiers were killed at Dunkirk and 40,000 French troops were left behind.

The news cycle has been consumed by the swift Taliban conquest of Afghanistan and the evacuation (now) of over 120,000 people by our heroic servicemen and women. After a poor start, the evacuation has accomplished a great deal. Saving over 120,000 lives is very commendable. Only the U.S. could accomplish something like this.

Nonetheless, President Biden’s critics in the “liberal” mainstream media and the Republican Party have alleged that the evacuation should have been very peaceful and orderly. …

Earlier this year when the vaccination rate was much higher, the U.S. was on its way to reach herd immunity by Labor Day at the latest. This would have been a tremendous triumph for President Biden and the Democrats in Congress since every Republican had voted against this progress.

Pete Ricketts joined President Biden in hailing this great progress and ended Nebraska’s state of emergency on June 28. Rickett said: “We’ve got to go back to normal life. Nebraska did a great job with this pandemic. ”

Unfortunately, the right wing media and some of the D.C. Republicans weren’t content…

In 2020, in Mike Pompeo’s words, the Taliban was represented by a “gentleman,” was “working diligently to reduce violence,” and was “sincere in wanting what’s good for the Afghan people.”

Many in the mainstream media have bought into the myth that somehow the GOP is better suited to keep America safe. In some circles, the GOP is considered the “daddy party” and the Democrats are deemed to be the “mommy party.” This outdated and erroneous talking point originated in the Democratic Party’s opposition to the Vietnam War in the 1970s and the Iranian hostage crisis of 1979–80.

This false talking point took a big hit during the George W. Bush Administration. This failed Administration ignored several warnings of an imminent Al Qaeda attack in the run up to 9/11 and…

Wars are expensive. How will Bacon pay for his proposed endless Afghan War?

Earlier this year, President Joe Biden announced that after 20 years, U.S. troops would be withdrawing from Afghanistan. Subsequent to that announcement, the Taliban launched an offensive that has overthrown the government and captured Kabul.

The ever opportunistic and hyper-partisan D.C. Republicans were quick to falsely blame this collapse on Biden. Don Bacon posted about a “colossal disaster” and compared the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan to President Obama’s withdrawal from Iraq in 2011. (Does Bacon want to re-invade Iraq? Do tell.) Chicken Hawks Deb Fischer, Ben Sasse and Jeff Fortenberry joined Don Bacon in supporting a forever war in Afghanistan.
