Engage Fischer on 2/21 & Fortenberry on 2/24

The time is now engage your member of Congress. The Congress is now on vacation until February 26 and your members of Congress (theoretically at least) should be here in Nebraska.

At the present time, the GOP in Washington is deeply divided and in disarray over Trump and the GOP agenda itself. The Republicans in Washington are tied in knots over the ACA because they know that their plans will leave millions of Americans behind.

This knowledge that the GOP replacement plans will kick millions off insurance make Republicans especially anxious in light of the grandiose promises they have made and can’t keep. Trump has said he will replace the ACA with “something terrific.” Trump has promised to insure “everybody” and provide “great health care at a fraction of the cost.”

The Republicans in Congress are also nervous because Trump is the most unpopular new POTUS in modern history. Two recent, reputable polls indicate that Trump’s approval rating is around 38% to 39%.

The combination of Republican disarray and Trump’s unpopularity has caused the Nebraska members of Congress not to hold any town hall meetings. They are afraid of their own constituents.

What that means is that we have bring the town hall meeting to our members of Congress.

There are two events happening in Lincoln next week where we can make a difference.

Senator Deb Fischer — instead of meeting with her constituents — will be addressing a right wing interest group in Lincoln on Tuesday. Please assemble at the Grand Manse at 12:30 on Tuesday, February 21 so Fischer can hear from you. The Grand Manse is at 129 North 10th Street

Our Save Our Health Care Group will be paying a visit to Congressman Fortenberry’s Lincoln office on Friday, February 24 at 10 A.M. Fortenberry’s office is at 301 South 13th Street, Suite 100.

Please attend these events so our members of Congress can hear from us. They can run but they can’t hide!
