These Guys Are Weird
What a difference a week makes!
Trump’s lead has evaporated. It’s still early, but various polls in the past 24 hours at both the swing state and national level are showing a +6–8% shift towards Harris compared to Biden. That’s a huge, basically unprecedented shift in modern politics.
“There is no reason to think that the positive polling numbers for Kamala Harris are just a temporary “bump.” More likely, Harris’ emergence as the Democratic candidate exposes the fundamental flaws of the Trump-Vance ticket.” Pollster Geoff Garin.
Trump going down after his convention is a big deal. In new ABC News/Ipsos poll, VP Harris has seen dramatic improvement in net favorability in last ten days. net was -11, now it is +1. Among Independents: was -19, now +4. In same period of time Trump net fav has gone from -11, to today -16.
In the week since we got started, Kamala Harris has raised $200 million dollars, 66% of that is from new donors, and we’ve signed up 170,000 new volunteers.
We are going to win because Trump and Vance are extreme and really weird. Trump wears makeup, has a strange wig and wears a girdle. He is no manly man. Trump is very old and weak.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has done a good job in summarizing the current state of the Republican campaign: “These are weird people on the other side. They want to take books away, they want to be in your exam room, that’s what it comes down to. … These are weird ideas.”
Let’s review some of the many bizarre statements that Trump has made this year. I’m bringing them up because the mainstream media has largely covered up Trump’s age and declining mental health. Please like and share this post so the message get outs.
“They all say I’ve, I think he’s changed since two weeks ago. Something affected him. No, I haven’t changed. Maybe I’ve gotten worse,” Trump said on July 27. This is virtually the only honest statement he has ever made.
“So I said, ‘Let me ask you a question, and [the guy who makes boats in South Carolina] said, ‘Nobody ever asked this question,’ and it must be because of MIT, my relationship to MIT — very smart. He goes, I say, ‘What would happen if the boat sank from its weight? And you’re in the boat and you have this tremendously powerful battery and the battery is now underwater and there’s a shark that’s approximately 10 yards over there?’
By the way, a lot of shark attacks lately, do you notice that, a lot of sharks? I watched some guys justifying it today. ‘Well, they weren’t really that angry. They bit off the young lady’s leg because of the fact that they were, they were not hungry, but they misunderstood what who she was.’ These people are crazy. He said there’s no problem with sharks. ‘They just didn’t really understand a young woman swimming now.’ It really got decimated and other people do a lot of shark attacks.
So I said, so there’s a shark 10 yards away from the boat, 10 yards or here, do I get electrocuted if the boat is sinking? Water goes over the battery, the boat is sinking. Do I stay on top of the boat and get electrocuted, or do I jump over by the shark and not get electrocuted? Because I will tell you, he didn’t know the answer. He said, ‘You know, nobody’s ever asked me that question.” I said, ‘I think it’s a good question.’ I think there’s a lot of electric current coming through that water. But you know what I’d do if there was a shark or you get electrocuted, I’ll take electrocution every single time. I’m not getting near the shark. So we’re going to end that.”
“You know, they go crazy when I say, ‘The late great Hannibal Lecter,’ OK? They say, ‘Why would he mention Hannibal Lecter? He must be cognitively in trouble.’ No no no, these are real stories. Hannibal Lecter from Silence of the Lamb [sic]. He’s a lovely man. He’d love to have you for dinner.”
“A criminal is a criminal, they generally stay a criminal and we do not have time to figure it out.” This is another rare, honest statement from Trump. It is autobiographical in nature.
J.D. Vance is every bit as weird as Trump and is the worst vice presidential pick in history. Aggregate polling data collected by CNN found that Vance has a net favorability rating of -6 points. That is the lowest of any vice presidential nominee for either major party in history, and the first time such a nominee has been in the net-negative range in the week after their party’s national convention. Vice presidential nominees have seen, on average, a plus 19 favorability rating shortly after they were nominated.
Polling from CNN also found that Vance currently has a net favorability rating of -16 points in his home region of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin. It compares to -5 point net favorability in all polls. “So, the people who know him best, the region that knows him best, they like him even less than America likes him,” said CNN’s Harry Enten.
Vance has had three names: James Donald Bowman, James David Hamel and now J.D. Vance. How many people have had three names? Now that’s just bizarre.
Vance’s stance on the issues and past statements are both weird and extreme.
Vance supports a national abortion ban with no exceptions — even for rape or incest.
Vance wants to give law enforcement the power to seize women’s confidential medical records in order to enforce bans on travel to other states for abortions.
He has had made a string of highly stupid statements about divorce. In 2021, he suggested ending marriages that were “maybe even violent” as selfish.
He’s simply a jerk. “We’re effectively run in this country — via the Democrats, via our corporate oligarchs — by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made, and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too,” Vance said.
JD Vance endorsed Project 2025: “We really need to be really ruthless when it comes to the exercise of power… I don’t think there’s a compromise that we’re gonna come with… Unless we overthrow them in some way, we’re gonna keep losing”
He wrote a glowing forward to a new book by Kevin Roberts, the architect of Project 2025.
“I hate the police,” Vance wrote in an email to a friend.
Here’s what Vance said about his wife: “Obviously she’s not a white person…but I love Usha.”
Do you want this weirdo one heart beat away from a 78 year old president in failing health who would be 83 at the end of his potential term?
“When we’re running against the generic Republican, our races are always really close, but there’s no such thing…These guys are weird. Once they start running, their weirdness shows up.” Tim Walz, governor of Minnesota.
There is an anti-MAGA majority outside of the red states. Trump has never once gotten more votes than his political opponent. Ever. And under his stewardship, the Republican Party has had historic electoral defeats in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023. The Democratic winning streak has continued into 2024.
Be confident going forward. Take nothing for granted. Keep working hard.
It’s America or convicted felon Trump. Choose wisely.
