Townhall meetings in Seward and Fremont this week.
Things in Washington get curiouser and curiouser.
Earlier this year, Trump appeared to agree with Democratic leaders that DACA recipients should be allowed to stay in the country. However, Trump reneged on that apparent deal when he demanded that any protections for the Dreamers should be linked to his ridiculous border fence with Mexico.
Mr. Fortenberry will most likely not be of any assistance on the immigration issue since he voted against the Dream Act in 2010 and sides with immigration hardliners like Trump and Rep. Steve King (R-IA).
On the health care front, Mr. Fortenberry said the following to the OWH on Sunday: “Conversations about creative approaches are nascent but they are happening. The country is exhausted by the current construct of the debate and it’s time to change it.”
That was just more double talk from Fortenberry to obscure his vote for Trump Care in May which would have taken away insurance from 22 million people in order to fund a tax cut for the rich.
This week, I will be holding two townhall meetings. Unlike Mr. Fortenberry, I will answer your questions. You will get specific answers and real world solutions.
Our first townhall meeting is tonight in Seward at the Civic Center at 616 Bradford Street. The meeting begins at 7 PM.
On Wednesday October 11, there will be a townhall meeting in Fremont at 7 PM at the UCFW Hall at 2410 North Colorado Street.
Please attend and ask me some tough questions. Thanks!
