On the health care front, Mr. Fortenberry said the following to the OWH on Sunday: “Conversations about creative approaches are nascent but they are happening. The country is exhausted by the current construct of the debate and it’s time to change it.”
That was just more double talk from Fortenberry to obscure his vote for Trump Care in May which would have taken away insurance from 22 million people in order to fund a tax cut for the rich.
As a member of Congress, I would pledge to:
- Continue to defend the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The 2010 health care law has insured 20 million additional Americans, eliminated lifetime limits and ended pre-existing condition clauses.
2. Strengthen the ACA and the health care system with a Medicare/Medicaid buy in for all plan. Anybody could select Medicare or Medicaid as their health insurance company.
3. Work towards the ultimate goal of Medicare for all and universal coverage. Unlike Fortenberry, I believe that access to decent, affordable health care is a right — and not a privilege.
We’re holding a townhall meeting tonight in Fremont at 7 PM. It will be at the UCFW hall at 2410 North Colorado Avenue. I promise to answer your questions and provide real world solutions. I hope to see you tonight!
