Trump Is A Russian Asset

Trump has criticized just about everybody else in the world with the notable exception of Vladimir Putin.

I am no conspiracy theorist, but it really seems like Trump is trying to deliberately destroy the U.S. from within. Health care, public schools, universities, research, law firms, federal workers, and the environment are all getting crushed by Trump and Musk.

Meanwhile, Trump’s inconsistent tariffs and mass firings have created a deep sense of economic uncertainty. Nobody knows what things will cost next month. This makes it impossible for businesses and consumers to plan ahead. Consequently, consumer confidence, business confidence, investment, retail sales and the stock market are all down. The stock market has lost $5 trillion in value since Trump took office. At the same time, inflation is going up faster than expected. We could be facing the perils of stagflation.

Overseas, Trump has alienated all of our allies and appeased our enemies. Trump has begun a destructive trade war against Canada, Mexico, South Korea and the European Union. At the same time, Trump wants to readmit Russia into the G-7 and lift U.S. sanctions on Russia. It’s madness.

What would explain all of this? I believe the answer is simple and chilling at the same time. Trump is a Russian asset. I’m not contending that Trump is a paid agent of Russia. What I’m arguing here is that Trump is a useful idiot for Putin. What would explain this? I am of the belief that Trump has extensive business ties to Russia and owes banks connected to Putin a considerable sum of money.

During the 1990s, Trump’s businesses filed for bankruptcy six times and his business empire was on the brink of collapse. Trump eventually made a comeback and overseas financing played a significant role in his turn around, in particular investments by rich people from the former Soviet republics and Russia.

In 2008, Donald Trump, Jr. bragged at a real estate conference. that a lot of the Trump family’s assets come from Russia. “And in terms of high-end product influx into the US, Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets,” Donald Trump, Jr. said while speaking at a New York real estate conference in 2008. “Say in Dubai, and certainly with our project in SoHo, and anywhere in New York. We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia.”

Six years later in 2014, Eric Trump was asked how the Trump family was funding its golf courses. Eric replied that: “We have all of the funding we need out of Russia.” He also bragged that the Trump business empire had access to $100 million in Russian money.

Yuri Shvets — a former KGB agent — contended that Trump has been cultivated as a Russian asset for over thirty years. In 1987, Trump went to the Soviet Union on a business trip. While he was there, he was praised by KGB agents and fed Soviet talking points. After he returned to the U.S., Trump rehashed Soviet talking points by calling for the reduction U.S. support for our NATO allies. His parroting of Soviet talking points was celebrated in Moscow.

All of this would explain Trump’s fawning attitude towards Russia and Putin, as well as Russia’s support of his election bids. If Trump crosses Putin, the Russian banks will foreclose upon Trump’s sleazy real estate empire and force him into another humiliating bankruptcy. Keep your eye on the money.

You would be mistaken if you believe that I am spinning some mad conspiracy theory on Trump and Russia. This concern about Trump’s connection to Russia is now going mainstream. Senator Jeff Merkley (R-OR) recently posted the following:

“Is Trump a Russian asset?

This question is more salient today than ever before given Trump’s conduct.

I put the question to Trump’s nominee for Deputy Secretary of State last week.

Here’s why: Right now, every move Trump is making on Ukraine is straight out of the Kremlin’s playbook:

  • Spread propaganda that Ukraine started the war
  • Reframe freedom-loving Ukraine as a dictatorship
  • Cut off military aid
  • Block intel sharing
  • Demean Zelenskyy in the Oval Office
  • Weaken the US alliance with Europe that has served our security for 80 years

If Trump were a Russian asset, is there anything more favorable he could be doing?

Oh yes, Trump could also short-circuit our cyber campaign that responds to Russian hacking, election interference, and sabotage that have targeted both the US and our European allies. Wait… he did that last week.

Who benefits? Putin. Who loses? Us.

I’m not letting Trump cozy up to Putin without a fight.

The American people deserve leaders who fight for them — not for corrupt deals or foreign dictators.

I’ll be holding the administration’s feet to the fire in the Senate to make sure they answer for every betrayal.

Onward!

Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR)”

Even Musk’s AI chatbot Grok has declared that there is at least a 75 percent chance that Trump is a “Russian asset” who has been “compromised” by Putin.

A majority of the American people have woken up to the threat posed by the Trump Administration. Trump’s approval ratings are in negative territory and the Republicans are losing special elections. Democrats recently flipped legislative seats in Iowa and Pennsylvania that Trump carried by 15 to 20 points last year. Trump pulled the nomination of Elsie Stefanik to the United Nations due to genuine concerns that the Republicans may lose upcoming special House elections in red districts in New York and Florida. The Republicans’ razor thin majority in the House is hanging by a thread.

We can begin the comeback here in Nebraska by winning the city elections in Omaha and Lincoln. The backlash to Trump and MAGA has begun. We have the wind at our back. Let’s go! If we do the work, we will win!
